The hypnotic Buddah-come-lightly, Hungarian born Bado Reti headlines a very special spooky Halloween. He is know for many-a-thing; master of many talents, one of which being his uncanny ability to hold together a quartet of many colours that bridges the gap from this world to the other one; taking from Jazz, Oude-meets-saxaphone and double bass, something far beyond 'folk'; a sound that feels as ancientsit does eternal. Time truly passes not-at-all when he plays. He's also my first pick if I had to be lost on desert island with someone, not just due to his musical prowess, but his silly sense of being, self awareness, humility and joyful engagement with world around him; a rare find - and a staple in the HMMS.
We have Rue Marie a divine femininist-a songwriter in support; an Edinburgh treasure. Her music a welcome relief from the world as it is; something soft and honest; poetry as poignant as her presence is engaging.
