'The Distillary' (purposeful mis-spelling*) was initially conceived as a songwriting workshop and adjacent resource book, and has evolved into a deeply transformative day to week-long retreat experience. *a-r-y  as in… the person who ‘distills’ poetically, as opposed to the place where it is done.  yess,  it is, -like all words, made up.  Yer welcome.  Do, come in!

With 25 plus years spent immersed in the creative landscape – a journey laden with  proverbial 'poppies, dandelions and sidewalk cracks' – Cera brings a wealth of practical knowledge and artistic sensibility to her teaching. This bespoke workshop offers a playful yet profound space for artists of all disciplines to distill their inner lives through a diverse range of practices: poetry, foraging, humour, haiku, elemental and seasonal rituals, minimalist collage, mixed media, shadow work, and music. Cera's dedication as a facilitator is rooted in her experience as a performer, seeking to uncover the fundamental reasons we are driven to create and reflect. What truly works? What fosters healing? What forges genuine connection with our most authentic selves, the world, and each other? How can we achieve greater impact with mindful simplicity? Cera's role is that of an experienced guide, firmly believing in the unparalleled value of shared creative spaces, where initial ideas are nurtured into enduring artistic growth.   Never go hungry - eat words!  

Recent theme of workshops have included: “How to Become Your Own Mother”, inspired by Caitlen Moran, "Forgetting to Remember, embracing the Ephemeral" and “the Harvest” exmaining what in our lives we have already harvested, what is there to harvest and “Letting Go”.  Each Workshop is catered to the season and inspired by topical events as well as the inner lives of the participants.

Price packages vary depending on location.  

Ideal for a house or local concert to precede a Distillary workshop.
